Problems

When I try to dial the access number,I get erromessage showing
" Error 630 : The computer is not receiving a response
from the modem. Check that the modem is plegged in, and if
necessary turn the modem off, and then turn it back on"
CHECK
- you have selected correct COM-PORT in Dial-up Networking
Properties.
RESET
your MODEM and then try to connect.

While trying to connect to SPECTRUM,after few seconds, displaying
this message : "678: The computer you are dialing in
to is not answering. Try again later" Why is it so?
a.
IN ConnToect -window select Pulse- if your line is pulse dialing,
Tone- if your line is tone dialing.
b.
Before that check your telephone line correctly connected
to your modem socket.
c.
In-dialup-networking: properties - Disable 'only connect at
this speed'.

How
do I get rid of trojans?
Always
use a good anti-virus like avp, norton anti-virus etc. These
and other anti-viruses can detect and warn you of any possible
attacks by viruses as well as trojans. Always update your
anti-virus once in 14 days. You never now when a latest trojan
can attack you. You can download small and very good trojan
removing softwares and run it on your computer like lockdown2000,
cleaner etc.
For
eg lockdown2000 and cleaner can detect more than 50 types
of trojans including new ones.
Just
download lockdown2000 or cleaner and run it on your computer
and then sleep with peace of mind.
Password
a)
Change your passwd regularly.
b)
Use the combination of 0-9 and a-z in your passwd.
c)
Don't use any name or number alone as a passwd, these are
easily crackable/guessable by the Hackers.
d)
Check the site Back Orifice Eliminator for secure your system
from BO attack (very much needed if you find that your account
is misused even after taking various measures )

a)
Never execute any downloaded mail attachment unless it is
from your trusted sender.
b)
Avoid Using any files send to you and you are not sure of
the sender.
c)
Always have a anti-virus installed in your computer and keep
them updated.
Keep

a)
Keep your passwd only with you. Don't give it to any one else.
b)
Don't give the passwd to any one over phone even if the caller
claims that he is from Spectrum until you know him personally.
c)

After I click connect,after some time, I get the following
error. What to do in such case?
"Dial-Up
Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network
protocols you specified in the Server Type settings. Check
your network configuration in the Control Panel then try the
connection again"
Solution:
you go to CONTROL PANEL
select NETWORK
select TCP/IP
click PROPERTIES
you will get the WINDOW shown below
configure according to your server address

DNS(secondary)- ns2.spectrumcybermate.net
( 202.4.191.194 )
After
giving all the above settings, you RESTART
your COMPUTER,and then try to connect. |
